The seventh summer of "Fun Fabulous Fridays" began Friday in Corner Park in downtown Ashland.

Police Chief Dave Marcelli, Fire Chief Rick Anderson, Municipal Court Judge John Goode, and Mayor Glen Stewart served as hot dog grillmasters for the United Way event.

United Way of Ashland County Director Eve Devaul says this is a fun and sutble way to promote the agency, without making it feel like it's part of the annual campaign.

The musical entertainment was provided by 25-year-old singer-songwriter Jessica Hannan of Ashland.

Her goal is to go to Nashville and become a country music star.

She's off to a good start with two C-D's on the market, and with a growing stockpile of her own compositions.

Five more Fun Fabulous Fridays will be held in June, July, and August.

"Duck Dynasty Day", where guests are encouraged to make a headband or hat out of duct tape, is June 28th.

"Chalk It Up and Cake Walk Day, featuring a calk art contest, is July 12th.

Fun Fabulous Friday moves to Loudonville July 19th.

"Price is Right Day" is July 26th.

And "Clash and Crazy Hat Day", where guests are encouraged to wear wild outfits with nothing that matches their crazy hat, is August 9th.
