Paving Contractor Accidently Severs Gas Line In Lexington

  A gas line was severed at the end of Industrial Drive in Lexington Friday night.

  A paving contractor reportedly was skimming a parking lot in preparation for paving, using a bobcat track loader when he sheared the plastic gas line.

  The Troy Township Fire Department was called to the scene, as was Columbia Gas, as crews responded to shut down the gas leak and make the necessary repairs.

  Local law enforcement officers closed down the drive as crews worked to repair the cut gas line.

  Many area residents gathered an looked on as crews finished up work on the line.
