Construction of new junior high is ahead of schedule

 The construction of a new junior high school for the Madison School District is ahead of schedule.

The project was the topic of discussion at the Madison Local Schools Board of Education meeting Wednesday.

Supt. Lee Kaple said the process is moving along well and expects the school to be completed by Feb. 2014.

"Things are going well. We're anticipating a smooth transition into the building next year. If things continue we may be able to move into the building earlier," Kaple said. 

In other business, the board recognized sophomore Bill Hauptman for a getting a perfect math score on the Ohio Graduation Test.  He scored a 533.

Hauptman also earned advanced scores in the areas of reading, science and social studies on the OGT.
