USA Jr. Softball In Ashland

The 2013 USA Softball Women's Junior Team which features players 19 and under was at Ashland's Brookside West practicing in preparation for two double headers at Brookside's main diamond on Friday and Saturday at 6:30pm.  The team will play a group of current and former college players as they get ready for the International Softball Federation Jr. Women's World Championships July 1st through the 7th, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

The players hail from 11 different states Alabama, Georgia, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.  The team is coached by Tairia Flowers, who is also the head coach at Cal State Northridge.  The USA Jr. team has won four Junior Women's World Championships including the Gold Medal in 2011.
