Jurors heard opening statements Monday in the George Zimmerman murder trial. Zimmerman and his wife entered the courtroom in Sanford, Florida Monday morning. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year. He claims it was self-defense. Prosecutors say Zimmerman followed and targeted the teenager. A jury of six women will decide his fate. The jury will be sequestered for the duration of the trial, which may take up to a month.
