The Galion/Mansfield American Legion baseball team inproved to 16-4 on the season with a 9-8 win over Ashland on Tuesday evening.  Post 243 pounded out 11 hits to go along with their nine runs, but that's no surprise to manager Ray Peterson who says one through nine every player is hitting over .300, with Mason Willeke leading the way at just over .500, while Logan Bastin and Nate Cass went into the game with Ashland Post 88 hitting over .400.

Peterson is prepping the squad for the Prospect tournament which begins play on Thursday and runs through Sunday involving teams from Lima, Bucyrus, Lafayette, Troy and the host team Prospect.  Post 243 has two more home games remaining on their schedule with Bucyrus at Heise Park on July,11th and the 13th also in Galion against Fremont.   The District tourney will begin the week of July 15th in Tiffin.  Peterson believes if his team can get past Strongsville, the tournament could come down to Galion/Mansfield and Sandusky.
