The Detroit Tigers opened up a 2.5 game lead taking 3 of 4 from the Indians in their weekend AL Central showdown. Although Cleveland is clearly still in the hunt, it remains to be seen if they will be a postseason contender in the second half of the season.

If the Tribe are looking to make a playoff push, they will likely need some help on their pitching staff. The Reportedly the team had a scout watching Matt Garza pitch on Monday night for the Cubs and also has been looking at Houston's Bud Norris for a possible trade. However, Indians General manager Chris Antonetti will probably have to part with a top prospect such as outfielder Tyler Naquin, if he wants to make a bold move.

With Rich Hill struggling in the bullpen with an ERA north of 6, the Indians could use another lefthander in the rotation.Oliver Perez who has ressurected his career as a Mariners reliever could be one possibility. But certainly keep an eye on the Indians over the next couple of weeks, as a move may be imminent.
