Teen Accused Of Assaulting Businessman Remains In Detention

  Original Published: 7/16/2013An Ashland teen is being held in detention at the Erie County Detention Center in Sandusky for allegedly assaulting a local businessman. The 17-year-old is accused of punching, Kent Comstock, 55, of Ashland, on July 11, outside of Bullshooters bar on East Main Street causing serious head injuries. Comstock remains in MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where's he's listed in critical but stable condition. The teen appeared before Juvenile Court Judge Damian Vercillo for a hearing Monday. During the hearing it was revealed that the teen and his older brother were beaten in a game of pool by Comstock and another man inside the bar. They allegedly followed Comstock and the man outside the bar. The boy's brother attempted to start a fight with Comstock's friend. Comstock tried to stop the confrontation, when the teen punched him causing him to fall and strike his head on the sidewalk.
