Ontario City Council is moving forward with the  Rock Road Sanitary Sewer Overflow Improvement Project.

Council Thursday approved awarding a contract to Simonson Construction Services,  Inc. of Ashland, for the construction of an equalization basin at the intersection north of Park Ave. West and west of Rock Rd.

"This makes us in compliant with the Environmental Protection Agency's find and orders for infilltration and inflow we've had in that area of the Rock Road lift station for a number of years. This should help resolve the issue," Council president Dan Zeiter said.

In other business, council had the second reading authorizing the service safety director to advertise for a new remote meter reading system.

Council also approved an ordinance naming a park located in the Spring Village subdivision Doris Carr Park.
