Heart Health A Good Reason To Eat Breakfast

  Original Published: 7/28/2013 Heart health may be the latest reason *not* to start your day on an empty stomach. According to a new Harvard study, having breakfast may keep you from having a heart attack. Researchers studied 45 to 82-year-old men who work in the medical field. They found those who skipped breakfast showed a 27 percent increase in heart attacks and coronary heart disease risk. Even though the study was done on older men, researchers say the results will likely apply to the broader population. The men who skipped breakfast were also more likely to smoke, be less physically active, and drink more.
