The City of Shelby has received the Auditor of State Award for a “clean” audit report from Dave Yost, Auditor of State of Ohio.

Auditor Yost’s office is responsible for auditing more than 5,700 state and local government agencies.

The criteria for a clean audit report includes that the entity must file timely financial reports with the Auditor of State's office in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

City of Shelby finance director Bob Lafferty says the award proved the hard work completed by all departments of the city to follow the procedures in place.
