Several area teams along with many from outside the area took part in a seven-on-seven passing scrimmage at Ashland University's Jack Miller Stadium Wednesday morning.

With the official start of the football preseason set to begin in a little more than a week on August 5th, coaches are starting to look at their biggest concerns.  At Ashland, coach Scott Valentine is concerned about his defense having lost several starters from 2012.  In addition he also will be looking for a new signal caller for the third straight year with the graduation of Tyson Vogel.

At Hillsdale, where Tom Williams has guided the Falcons to the playoffs in three of the last four seasons, the coach is just hoping his club enters the rigors of two-a-days healthy and in shape.  While at Galion, coach Chris Hawkins, who's team advanced to the post season for the second time since 2010, says he likes the seven-on-seven format saying it gives his skill players a jump start to the preseason allowing them to compete against other teams and looks on defense and offense.

The season begins for everyone across the state the week of August 30th.
