Jones Wins Womens Tri-County Golf Tournament

14-year-old Alexis Jones won the Tri County Women's Golf Tournament by shooting a two day total 151 with scores of 74 on Wednesday at Valley View Golf Course and 77 on Thursday at Deer Ridge.  The freshman-to-be at Shelby score was 18 strokes better than second place finisher and former champion Nancy Joyce who shot a two day total 169 on scores of 84-85. 

The top finisher in the first flight was Bev Messner with a two day total 161 with scores of 72 and 89, while finishing first in the second flight was Rosemary James with a two day total of 198 on scores of 99 and 99.  This was the first year the women's tournament included not just Richland County, but Crawford and Ashland as well.
