Council Approves New Salaries For Elected Officials

Galion City Council approved several ordinances Tuesday establishing salaries and fringe benefits for the mayor, auditor, treasurer, law director and president of council.

The salaries include:
Mayor $30,000, previous salary $19,290
Auditor $39,902 previous salary $ 38,000
Treaurer $6,500 previous salary $6,500
Law Director $45,000 previous salary $45,000
President of Council $5,040 previous salary $5,040

Council also passed an ordinance establishing an annual salary of $4,200 for ward council members and council members at large.
