Mansfield City Council At-Large Democratic candidate, Cynthia Baker, officially kicked off her campaign Thursday at the K.E. McCartney Building, 16 S. Park St. in downtown Mansfield.

    
For 36 years Baker worked for the city of Mansfield and is excited about the opportunity to once again serve the city and its residents.

Baker said she's is committed to addressing the issues of Community Revitalization, Safety and Constituent Services if elected to council.

"I believe the key to Mansfield's future is in the people and the neighborhoods. Safe, prosperous neighborhoods," Baker said.

"People work the jobs, people build the houses and people manage our city," Baker said.

Baker began her career with the Mansfield Police Department in 1975, then moved to Community Development as a Rehab Specialist in 1988, and was promoted to Community Development Director in 1992 where she retired in 2012.

Baker said she loves Mansfield and believes the the city's best days are still ahead.
