The Mansfield Police Department is investigating the robbery of the Subway restaurant at 1521 Lexington Ave. Sgt. Chad Brubaker said police received a 911 call just after 7 p.m. Wednesday that a robbery had occurred at the sandwich shop. "Upon arrival we were told that a white male entered the store and asked the clerk to open the cash register. The register was already opened and he reached over the counter grabbed the money and fled," Brubaker said. "The suspect acted as if he had a weapon but no weapon was seen," Brubaker said. Brubaker said the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. He said no one was injured in the robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, wearing blue jeans, black shoes, black rimmed glasses and a white hoodie with blue lettering on the front. Brubaker said evidence was collected at the scene and a suspect had been identified but the name would not be released at this time. Brubaker said there was a surveillance camera in the restaurant and police were looking over the footage. Evidence collected at the scene included a hoodie found in the back of the building. The suspect fled in an older model Chevy Camaro.
