NECIC And Citizen Action Group Preparing For Nov. 5 Election

NECIC, The North End Improvement Community Collaborative, is gearing up for the November 5 General Election.

The organization met with the Citizen Action Sector Wednesday at NECIC's North Main Street office to plan for an upcoming Candidate's Night and Issues Night for area residents.

"We discussed having the Candidates Night on Sept. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. for indidviduals running for city council," NECIC execuive director Deanna West-Torrence said.

"The Issues Night would be held on Oct. 9," West-Torrence said.

In other business, the group also discussed the local housing initiatives and demolitions, and inventory of vacant properties.

The goals of the group includes reducing vacant properties and blight in the area, simplifying the reporting process for code violations, promoting efficient response from city and county agencies and keeping abreast of funding through Moving Ohio Forward, NSP and Community Development Block Grant funds.
