New Apartment Complex For Ohio State Mansfield To Be Built

A second apartment complex for out-of-town students at Ohio State-Mansfield was given the Ontario Planning Commission's blessing to begin construction Wednesday night. The Buckeye Village Apartments will be built on six acres of property adjacent to the campus, on Lexington-Springmill Road. Campus Dean and Director Dr. Stephen Gavazzi says the plan is to build 100 units by the end of next year, and 500 units over five years. Gavazzi says these apartments will house the growing numbers of students from Cleveland, Akron, and Canton who want to attend OSU-Mansfield, and serve to increase enrollment at the campus, after declining by one-fourth in recent years. He looks forward to the ground-breaking ceremony Friday September sixth. Buckeye Village Apartments will be a private development by University Housing Solutions, as opposed to the existing Molyet Village Apartments which are owned by the Ohio State University.
