Shelby City Council reviewed the findings from a study conducted on the city's electric rate structure at their meeting Monday night. Mayor Marilyn John said the last electric rate study was conducted in the mid nineties. She said the study is helpful because it ensures the city is in line with its electric rate structure. In other business, State Representative Mark Romanchuck presented the city with the 2013 Auditor of State Award of Distinction for having a clean financial report. Council also approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract for the purchase and installation of a new roof structure for the digester at the Shelby wastewater treatment plant.
