Lexington Board of Education president Bob Whitney was honored for his years of service to the school district at the board of education meeting Wednesday. Whitney was presented a plaque from the school board recognizing his 50th year the as a member of the school board. Whitney has been a member of the school board since April 1964. He says he would like to continue serving on the board which has been a rewarding experience for him.
