A mother and son had to scramble to safety when a fire broke-out Friday afternoon in their home. The blaze was at 2510 Ellen Avenue in Troy Township, and was discovered as both woke up. 16-year-old Skyler Bister says he and his mother gathered up their dogs, and he grabbed his X-Box "because it's my life", and got out safely. Ten dogs were taken to a neighbor's back yard where they're safe and sound. Bister didn't immediately how how extensive the damage might be, but believes the cause was faulty wiring in the kitchen because another smaller fire broke-out Thursday. Skyler Bister lives in the house with his parents, brother, and sister. He hopes they can stay there, but if not, says they'll figure something out for a place to stay. Firefighters from Troy, Washington, and Springfield Townships battled the blaze.
