Ford Fusion Rolls Off Detroit-Area Assembly Line

  Original Published: 8/29/2013 Made in the USA, the first American-made Ford Fusion will roll off a Detroit area assembly line Thursday. Some 1,400 new employees were hired at the Flat Rock plant to keep up with demand for the Ford Fusion. The new hires are part of Ford's plan to bring jobs to the U.S. that were previously located in other countries. Ford says Fusion is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains and that's boosting demand. The carmaker reports sales for the Fusion are up 13-percent this year.
