Rim Fire In Northern California Now 30 Percent Contained

  Original Published: 8/29/2013 Thousands of firefighters are ready to defend the Yosemite area from a fire the size of New York City. Northern California's so-called Rim Fire is now 30-percent contained. The wildfire in-and-around Yosemite Naitonal Park has burned through 192,000 acres, and is threatening 4,500 structures. The fire continues to grow, but officials say it's not spreading as fast. It's now the sixth-largest wildfire in California history.
