Richland Co. Observes National Mental Illness Recovery Month

Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services observes National Recovery Month in September. Director Joe Trolian told the commissioners this morning, the mental health field has made great strides over the years in helping people with mental illness return to happy and productive lives. The commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing Recovery Month. Activities during September include Catalyst Life Services having its Helpline available for questions about substance abuse and mental health recovery. The number is 419-522-HELP (4357). It's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Richland County will offer Family to Family classes, with information about diagnosis, medications, suicide prevention, and what to do in a crisis.
