Clean-up Underway Following Storms In Montana

  Original Published: 9/9/2013 Clean-up is underway in Montana, following a weekend of wicked storms. Heavy rains flooded streets in Billings, making it difficult for drivers to get around. High winds knocked down trees and power lines, and damaged homes. The National Weather Service says the damage was the result of what's called a "macroburst." A macroburst is an intense downward blast of air from a thunderstorm, spreading out over an area that's at least two-and-a-half miles wide. Peak winds during one of these events usually last between 5 and 20 minutes.
