The 0-2 Shelby Whippets will try to get their first win on the season in week three as they play host to the 1-1 Clear Fork Colts Friday at Skiles Field. Shelby dropped their second straight to start the season last week 28-12 at home to Lexington. The Whippets fell behind 21-0, before getting on the board with a third quarter touchdown. Stat wise, the Whippets outgained the Minutemen 385 to 239 total yards, passing for 330. It was also a better week for Shelby quarterback Spencer Blevins who stepped in for starter Lukas Ousley who is out with a season ending knee injury suffered in the teams preview against Galion. Also having a stand out night was Shelby receiver Coalton Webb. Webb pulled in nine passes for 219 yards and a touchdown last week. While they have scrimmaged in the past, the Clear Fork at Shelby contest will be the first ever regular season football game between the two schools.  For their part, the Colts will be looking to bounce back from a 30-8 loss at home to Ontario.
