162nd Ashland County Fair Gets Underway

The 162nd edition of the Ashland County Fair got underway Sunday with opening ceremonies and the popular Junior Fair King and Queen contest. The contest was held in the Entertainment Tent. This year's Junior King is Aaron Pauly, 17, a senior, from Ashland and Abby Motter, 16, a junior from Crestview, was named Junior Queen. The first runners-up were Luke Shearer and Kaitlyn Rose 17. Opening day of the fair also included the parade of bands from Ashland University, Black River, Crestview, Hillsdale, Loudonville, Plymouth and Ashland, a kiddie tractor pull, women's skillet throw and the Ashland County Sheriff's Office K-9 demonstration.
