  Original Published: 9/18/2013The cities of Ashland and Wooster will now have a new joint safety dispatching system. Ashland City Council approved an ordinance forming a regional Wooster-Ashland Council of Governments at their meeting Tuesday. Council members believe the merger will provide faster and more efficient emergency services. Wooster City Council adopted its half of the ordinance at its meeting Monday night. A feasibility study conducted in Columbus indicated that the merging may save as much as $1.2 million.
