Original Published: 10/1/2013 Amazon is gearing up for the holidays by hiring 70,000 full-time, seasonal workers. That's up 20,000 workers from last year's holiday season. The employees will work at one of Amazon's more than 40 fulfillment centers across the country. It's likely some of the seasonal staff will score permanent gigs. So far this year, more than 7,000 temporary Amazon employees have become full-time. Amazon is just one of several large companies that ramps up hiring around the holidays.
