Tornadoes Sweep NOL Quad Meet

There may have been clear, sunny skies over Marshall Park in Ontario Tuesday afternoon, but it would be Tornadoes who stole the show.

In the boys race at the NOL conference quad meet, Tiffin Columbian put four runners in the top 10, paced by senior's Brandon Gibson and Tyler Lewis. The pair ran in the front of the pack all day and finished virtually side by side with Lewis taking first place honors.

Ontario's Brett Corteletti was battling Norwalk's Quentin Howell for third place down the final stretch, but would take a tumble and fight exhaustion to finish in fifth. Howell would take third and Corteletti would leave in an ambulance for dehydration.

In the girls heat, it was basically a 2-way battle for the first mile between Norwalk's Sydnie Fetherolf and Jordie Garrett of Shelby. Fetherolf would eventually hit her stride and run away with the title, as Garrett finished in second, followed by the Tornadoes Dera Cheatham.
