New London FFA Forestry Team 3rd In State Contest

The New London High School Future Farmers of America forestry team earned a third place in the state forestry career development event held at Camp Michael in Bucyrus. Members of the team were Daniel Klingman, Alex Gundlach, Kaitlin Strojin, Elizabeth Phillips and Shelbi Liss. Klingman finished third individually. Seven teams competed. The forestry career development event teaches skills and develops knowledge in the area of forestry. Examples of such skills are tree identification, general forestry knowledge, chain saw safety and identification, map reading, tree diseases and disorders, and equipment identification.
