Original Published: 10/15/2013 Was it only a matter of time? Could Macy's really be breaking a 155-year tradition? There are reports that Macy's will open on Thanksgiving Day and stay open for 24 hours straight. In 2011, many stores began opening at 12 a.m. on the morning of Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
