October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and two events are coming up to raise money for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" program. First is a bake sale Wednesday in the lobby of WMFD-TV and WVNO MIX-106 FM at 2900 Park Avenue West, then a 5-K walk Saturday at Carrousel Park in Mansfield. The fund-raising goal for the walk $41,000. The money goes to the cancer society for research into breast cancer prevention and treatment. Registration for Saturday's walk is at nine am, with the walk starting at ten. You can also sign-up at WMFD.com by clicking on the pink ribbon link.
