Catholic Charities held its third annual Harvest of Hope breakfast Tuesday morning, the organization's big fund-raiser of the year. About 120 people from all sectors of the community turned-out to support the agency and its work to help needy families. But during her remarks, Catholic Charities Mansfield Site Manager Rebecca Owens pointed-out how helping somone can escalate into a feeling of entitlement and dependency. The keynote speaker was Harvey Alston, an educator, author, and motivational speaker from Columbus. He urged the gathering to "be the best you can be". The Harvest of Hope breakfast was expected to raise at least $5000 for Catholic Charities. Part of the fund-raiser was the raffle of a quilt, made by Jenni Paramore of Directions Credit Union. The winner of it was Libby Blakley.
