Both the Lexington girls and boys cross country teams will head to regionals at Tiffin on Saturday as Division II district champions. The D-2 regionals will be run at Tiffin's Hedges Boyer Park, a place that is very familar to both teams having run there earlier in the year at the Tiffin Carnival. Lex heads to regionals having both the the top runner on the girls end at districts and boys. Lillian Freundlich finished first last week in a time of 18:49.9. On the boys side Lexington's Zane Sturts took first in a time of 16:28.5. Lexington cross country coach Denise Benson said at this point in the year times are not that important, but winning as a team is. The Division II girls race will start off at 11:45am Saturday, the Division II boys race will be at 2:15pm. The Lady Lex cross country team has finished as state runner-up twice in the last three seasons in 2010 and 2012.
