The 20-1 Mansfield Christian Flames boys soccer team, winners of 15 straight will try to make it 16 on Saturday evening in Tiffin as they face undefeated 17-0-1 Liberty-Benton in the Division III district final. Flames coach Jesse Rider says the two teams are similar and matchup well. The Eagles only blemish so-to-speak was a 1-1 tie with Ottawa-Glandorf. While MC's only loss was to Mansfield Senior 2-1 at the end of August. Sophomore outside/mid Samuel Paul says the Flames have to slow down Liberty-Benton's ability to score from the forward position. Senior center back Matt Millard says their is a bit of urgency with him being a senior, taking it one game at a time and not looking ahead. The winner of MCS/Liberty-Benton contest will take on the winner of the Elyria Catholic/Rocky River Lutheran West contest at Ashland's Community Stadium on Wednesday, October 30th at 7pm in the Division III regional semifinal.
