Ontario Girls Soccer Wins 5th Straight District

In a rematch of the final regular season game won by Clear Fork 1-0 on a penalty kick, the Ontario girls soccer team won their fifth consecutive district championship by downing the Colts 3-0 at Ashland's Community Stadium on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, Ontario would find the back of the net when Jayde Niss scored at the 35:52 mark of the second half. The Warriors would strike again at 17:35 of the second half when Mackenna Papst scored on a header off a corner kick from Allie Atkinson making the score Ontario 2, Clear Fork 0. Ontario would close out the scoring with 9:13 remaining when Madison Papst scored off a corner kick making the final 3-0, Ontario. With the win the 15-2-2 Warriors move on to the Division II regional semifinal at Sandusky Tuesday night at 7pm against Rocky River, while Clear Fork ends their season as Division II district runner-up at 14-5.
