Original Published: 10/28/2013Shelby Police have charged a man with committing home repair scams. Fifty-year-old Marvin Wayne Lewis of Mansfield is charged with one fifth-degree felony count of theft by deception. Police have identified at least five victims and believe there may be more. Police say Lewis advertised in the Shelby newspaper, and offered his home repairs services by going door-to-door, using several difference business names. He's accused of taking money, then either not doing the work, not completing it, or doing a poor job. Lewis is in the Richland County Jail. He has been arraigned on the charge and awaits having his case sent to the grand jury for a possible indictment.
