The Mansfield Christian Flames are headed to the Division III final four in boys soccer by slipping past Kalida 1-0. With the game appeared headed to overtime, the Flames would score what would turn out to be the game winning goal at 10:21 of the second period off an indirect kick at the top of the box. Two brothers, David and Josh Cochran would combine on the game winner as younger brother David would pass the ball over a line of four Wildcat defenders to older brother Josh who made good with a one-on-one shot against Kalida goal keeper Brent Hovest, putting the Flames ahead to stay with the final score of 1-0. On Defense the Flames completed their fourth shutout in five tournament games, giving up just one goal to Elyria Catholic in MCS 2-1 win in the D-3 regional semifinal. Now at 20-1, winners of 18 straight, Mansfield Christian advances to the Division III state semifinal at Nordonia High School in Macedonia, Ohio on Wednesday, November 6th at 7pm.  The Flames will face 13-7-1 Gates Mills Hawken.
