Several Area Teams Prep For Football Playoffs

Eight area teams are headed off to week 11 and the OHSAA playoffs this Friday and Saturday. In Division II, 9-1 Licking Heights will take on 10-0 Mansfield Senior at Arlin Field Friday, at 7:30pm. That will also be the WMFD-TV Game of the Week, it will be played back at midnight Friday and at 8:30 Saturday morning. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN 1440 and 97.3 FM WRGM. It will be the Tygers first home playoff game since 2000, when Mansfield defeated Canton Glenoak in the regional quarterfinal. Other games on Friday have 9-1 Galion on the road at 10-0 Kenton at 7:30pm. 9-1 Norwalk will take on league foe 9-1 Tiffin Columbian at Tiffin Friday at 7:30pm. TC was the only team to beat the Truckers back in week four 24-20. Also on Friday at 7:30, 9-1 Wayne Trace will be in North Robinson to take on 9-1 Colonel Crawford in the Eagles first ever home playoff game. On Saturday night at 7pm, 9-1 Loudonville will travel to 9-1 West Salem Northwestern. Also on Saturday night 9-1 Norwalk St.Paul will play host to 5-5 Southington Chalker at 7pm, while the 6-4 Mapleton Mounties will be at 8-2 Wellsville at 7pm. The winners will advance to regional semifinal play next weekend at neutral sites to be determined by the OHSAA.
