The Richland County Sheriff is asking for far less money to close-out the year than he originally expected to need. Steve Sheldon told the commissioners Tuesday morning, belt-tightening and careful money management have reduced his needs. The commissioners praised Sheldon and his staff for keeping expenses in-check, as the year draws to a close and other departments request extra funding before closing their books.
