Original Published: 11/5/2013Incumbent 5th ward councilwoman Democrat, Pat Hightower, retained her seat against Republican challenger Carl Yeager for Mansfield City Council. Hightower one her seat by more than 72 percent of the vote. She said she looks forward to her term in office. "I feel blessed the people would elect me again to serve. My plans are to continue to help Mansfield grow," Hightower said. Yeager was originally removed from the ballot by the board of elections after it was determined he did not live at the listed address of 462 Lily Street. Yeager challenged the decision and the Ohio Supreme Court ruled in his favor. The board of elections placed Yeager back on the ballot.
