Cincinnati Summit Country Day edged Mansfield Christian 2-1 in the boy's Division III soccer state final at Crew Stadium on Saturday evening. The Silver Knights scored first nearly eight minutes into the game when Charie Maciejewski found the back of the net putting the Silver Knights up 1-0. From that point on the Flames were forced to play catch up the rest of the night. The Knights score what would turn out to be the game winning goal at the 6:28 mark of the second half on a goal by Brendan Jones putting Summit Country Day up 2-0. But Mansfield Christian still had something left, scoring a goal by Josh Cochran with just 4:01 remaining making it 2-1, Silver Knights. But the Flames could get no closer settling for the D-3 runner-up trophy with an overall record of 21-2, becoming the first Mansfield area boys soccer team to play in a state championship game.
