The Richland County Democratic Women’s Caucus honored the service and dedication of veterans in our area during their gathering Monday evening at the K.E. McCartney Memorial Building in downtown Mansfield. The guest speaker was Korean War Veteran Frank Russo. Russo talked about the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on Oct. 19. Russo also talked about his experiences during the Korean War. Russo said the trip to Washington was a day to remember for the veterans who went to see the monuments built to honor them. "There were 10 planes that had 80 World War II and Korean veterans that went on the trip to Washington D.C." Russo said. "Another Honor Flight is planned for April 19, 2014 and we're accepting applications for the flight" Russo said. For more information about the next Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., contact Frank Russo at 419-756-1468.
