The Lexington boy's basketball team is prepping for the team's opener under second year coach Scott Hamilton. The Minutemen will be looking to improve on last season's 16-8 overall finish, 9-5 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference, good for third behind OCC champion Mansfield Senior and second place West Holmes. The Minutemen return five lettermen from last year in Zach Temple, Matt Barkett, Bryan Truax, Trent Richwine and Nick Leasure. Hamilton says he is in pretty much the same situation as last year in that the coaching staff needs to have several role players step in as starters to replace those gone to graduation. In particular the team's leading scorer from a year ago Mason Willeke. Hamilton also has moved up Tyler Johnson, Joey Zahn, Jonah Yaussy and Charlie Keller from last year's JV squad. Lexington will open the new season on Friday, November 29th, at home against Brunswick.
