Six organizations that help parents were awarded grants Wednesday from the Women's Fund Advisory Committee of the Richland County Foundation. The recipients and committee members gathered for lunch at the Westbrook Country Club for the award presentations. The Women's Fund chooses a different theme for its grant awards each year, with parenting being this year's focus. The recipients are: the City of Mansfield "Bottoms Up! Help Me Grow Project"; Emergency Pregnancy Aid Contact "Living & Loving=Learning"; Harmony House "Feed, Flower, Flourish"; Independent Living Center of North Central Ohio "Grandma's Cookbook of New Recipes for Multi-Generational Parenting"; and Parent Aid "Enriching Foundations for Moms". The grants range from $2000 to $9000, although the individual amounts were not disclosed. Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker presented a proclamation for this Friday as National Philanthropy Day and this week as Community Foundation Week.
