Major Dale Fortney Out Of Job At Sheriff's Office

  Original Published: 11/20/2013Major Dale Fortney is out of a job with the Richland County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Steve Sheldon made the announcement in a press release Wednesday. Sheldon says the sheriff's office ended its employment relationship with Fortney earlier this week. Fortney spent 21 years with the Mansfield Police Department before coming to work for the sheriff's office. The sheriff didn't give a reason for Fortney's firing and says no decision has been made about when or if he will be replaced.
