MedCentral Wins Six Healthgrades Cardiac Care Awards

Med-Central Health System's cardiovascular unit was presented with six awards Thursday morning by the hospital rating organization, CPM Healthgrades.

The awards are for being among the 100 best hospitals for cardiac surgery, for excellence in cardiac surgery, for being in the top 5 percent for cardiac surgery, for bypass and valve surgery, and for coronary interventional procedures.

MedCentral has won of these awards for three, four, and even eight consecutive years. Medical Director Dr. Gregory Eaton says the cardiovascular unit's ten physicians and staff of nearly 100 have worked hard to live up to Med-Central's slogan, "Expert Care Close to Home".

Healthgrades examines and rates 4500 hospitals across the country, in an effort to help patients make informed decisions about their health care.
