The Polar Express And Santa Claus Roll Into Shelby

  Original Published: 11/25/2013The city of Shelby ushered in the holiday season with a big event "A Night of Christmas Magic" Sunday in downtown Shelby. Dozens of people welcomed the Polar Express as it entered the Shelby Train Depot with Santa and Mrs. Claus who welcomed the crowd. The event allowed everyone to experience the magic of Christmas. The celebration included MedCentral Shelby Hospital Guild's 15th Annnual "Festival of Lights, a Christmas Sing-A-Long in Central Park with Auburn Elementary's third grade class, kids activities at local businesses and the Polar Express story was read to children in Central Park. The Shelby Fire Department servied cookies and hot chocolate inside the firehouse to all those in attendance. The free event was sponsored by Ashland Railway, Shelby Area Business Group, the city of Shelby and Richland Source.
