A Marion man was killed when he wrecked his car shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday on Ohio 309 near Decliff Road in Grand Township of Marion County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Justin Clark, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Dr. Marc Comianos.

The patrol says Clark was not wearing a safety belt when he drove his car off the side of the road, with it striking a tree. Clark was trapped in the car and had to be extracted by firefighters from the Marseilles Volunteer Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
